Freeview – Information on the upcoming COM7 closures

On 29th & 30th June 2022 there are changes being made to the way some channels are currently broadcast.

Since the decision by Ofcom to make more bandwidth available for mobile data, the Ofcom licenses for some channels using the affected airwaves has expired.  This means that affected channels are making changes to the way they are broadcast moving forward.  Please see below for a list of affected channels and more information on what changes are taking place.

Viewers will need to retune their TV on both the 29th & 30th June 2022 to update their channels and to keep your TV Guide up to date.  Viewers can find more information on how to retune on the retune videos page.

There will be MHEG pop ups going live across channels starting on Thurs 23rd June 2022 and these will run up until the 30th when the final changes have taken place.

Please do not use the below information for any website or viewer facing comms, it includes technical information not meant for viewer consumption.  For any viewer facing comms or pages please use or point to our service updates page which will be in place from 23rd June 2022.
